Gatorade partnered with Snapchat to create a unique and memorable way to celebrate Serena William’s record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam victory, with a web view game that allowed players to become Serena and play through each of her Grand Slam victories.

The challenge

Gatorade wanted a unique and memorable way to celebrate Serena William’s record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam victory.

The Solution

Snapchat and Gatorade collaborated to create “Serena Match Point,” a Snap ads web video game which allowed Snapchatters to step into Serena’s shoes and control an 8-bit Serena Williams and play through each of her Grand Slam victories. The game could be played by swiping up on Snap ads on the ESPN channel of Discover. Gatorade ran a three day channel takeover, as well as ads in other channels.

• 14.5% swipe up rate
• +196 seconds average time spent on web view
• +28m Snap views
